You can reach great heights on natural rock or indoors.

Previously a discipline reserved for mountain climbers to make their ascents, climbing has become more and more accessible.
There are many natural or artificial structures to climb, with or without equipment, in the Hautes Vosges d’Alsace. The choices available to climbers range from low blocks and climbing walls to rock faces several hundred metres high.

Height 10 to 30 m, blocks 4 to 5. SOUTH-facing cliff, height between 800m and 850m.
Access: The most pleasant way to reach it is to drive up to Lac d'Alfeld carpark (100 places). From there, walk along the lake's embankment, continue along the path in the direction of Baerenbach (blue rectangle), once you arrive on the big path, turn to the right to reach the main area (sector 2), less than 15 minutes from the carpark.
Alternatively, you can take the drivable track, on the right before the lake, towards Baerenbach. In this case, park your car after the bridge on the right (10 places). You will come to the first area (base camp) after a 100 m walk to the left of the track. The other areas are 200 m further on to the right of the track.
You are advised not to park in front of the cliff as agricultural and forest vehicles pass by here.
